iBoostUp App Reviews

Much improved!

Ive used this for a couple of versions now, it started great but then I got some appstore errors on the last version(s) - all fixed now and this version also contains some really nice improvements and new features. Very happy camper as the upgrade was free for my previous paid version too!

NO Disk Health???

I loved this app for its quick clean and disk health. With the New update they have removed the Disk Health feature!! Plese Bring It Back!!! Otherwise it is really good and it kept my paid version. I did not have to restore the purchase!! So i am giving the app 3 stars. Downgarded from the perivious versions 5 stars. :)

Removed Disk Health?

I used this application mostly because of the dish health feature, now that it is removed, i dont use it that much. That feature is really useful escpecially that my mac sometimes slows down. Overall the new update has a cool new icon and other little new improvements. I would really appreciate it if you could bring back the Disk Health.

Updates

Still waiting for version 3.5 to come out in the App Store I have had version 3.5, that I got from iBoosts site since Oct. 10.

No disk health

the only reason i used this app was because of the disk health feature, and they got rid of it in the most recent update. Its useless to me now.

Slow - REALLY slow!

Not sure whats going on with this app is app - it is painstakingly slow. That, coupled with the loss of the disk health function makes it a no-go (for me). Other choices out there. If disk health function is gone because of Apple sandbox requirements, then other non-App store options may be more attractive - would be a real shame.

Useful but bad UI

Even the free version has a few useful utilities, but the app looks dated. I dont mind the new blue window pane (as opposed to the system default gray), but I cant resize the window, which is really annoying when Im trying to look at a list of items - the app occupies maybe 30% of the total available screen space (on my 13" MacBook). Also, the icon at the top of the window is very low resolution (aside from being unnecessary). These are relatively minor annoyances, but they generally lead me to the conclusion that the developer may not have been thorough in his design; therefore Im VERY unlikely to pay for this app in the future.

Cannot delete duplicates from external HD.

After over four hours of scanning my external HD, I found that it could not delete from that source - probably because trash does not work that way, but I would forgo that in order to delete these dupes. After deleting a few files of the hundreds of dupes manually it crashed - I wont go through rescanning.

Awsome

Can you add a stop button for scanning?

Seriously guys no disk health

thats like taking out the cheese in cheese pizza, the disk health feature was (at least to me) the most valuable asset in this app. Bring it back please.

No Health Disk Killed this app

Loved it now I deleted it, you shot yourself in the foot by taking health disk away

Thx for saving my mac

Before using this great apps, the fan get very noisy when startup, seems a lot of startup items out there doing sth useless. Until now My mac gets up quikely in less than 10s ( SSD used) :)

No Disk Repair??

I loved having the disk repair option and now it isnt on there anymore. Im really disappointed.

What happened to disk repair?

For me, the most useful part was having disk repair. With that, I used it frequently. Now that its gone Im much less likely to use iBoostup.

For those that liked iboostup for the disk health/repair function, READ THIS

Like many users that updated their iboostup, the disk health/repair was removed. It technically was not removed. If you go into their in app support, they will tell you to download the app straight from their website. They had to remove the disk health function due to sandoxing issues or something along those lines. But I just downloaded the app from their site and it indeed has the disk health function back on there. Happy camper and I hope everyone finds this helpful. Good day!

SLOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!

Dang! This app is so stinkin slow! It takes forever to finish anything! And it totally hogs all memory so that nothing else will respond at all while its working. AND it wont quit! FAIL!

everything is extra

They should tell you what are extra cost items. I ran the app shrinker scan. It took forever. Only to find out after that I had to pay for it. Would have given 3 stars if not for that. 4 stars if there was one price(around $4) to buy everything else.

Dont bother

this program doesnt work at all. I downloaded it ran it and it wants me to select my home folder. I point it to my home folder hit open and im right back where I started. Cant go any farther. 2008 MBP running lion 10.7.5

Not very useful without in app purchases

Most everything considered useful requires an in-app purchase. The actions performed for free can be done with other apps I already have on my system. Example: The Cleaning section contains four items: Quick Clean, Unused Files, Cookies, & Duplicate Files. Quick Clean (cleans log & similar files) and Cookies can be performed by other apps such as CCleaner. Finding Unused Files and Duplicate Files requires an in-app purchase. Also, the Cookies section did not detect that I have Chrome installed on my system. Example: Optimization section contains App Shrinker, Disk Health, Memory Boost & Network. App Shrinker requires an in-app purchase. Disk Health simply checks permissions like Apples Disk Utility. Memory Boost requires an in-app purchase, despite several free App Store applications that perform the same function. Hard to say what function the Network item performs. It says my settings are "Optimized," but doesnt say what it checks. Uninstalling.

I really like it!

It is easy, fast, and a really good app. It first started just being a cleaner and then it is just so much more! 5 stars fo sure! I had the same problem but was able to fix it by completly uninstalling everything!
